PMI Charitable Contributions Update

Here at Professional Marketing International, giving back is part of who we are. We believe in supporting good causes and use our resources to make our community and the world a better place. We are only three months into 2011, but our philanthropic efforts are already in full swing. Here’s an update on what we’ve been up to. Diabetes Research Institute Foundation This January, PMI made a donation to the Diabetes Research Institute. It is one of the world’s leading diabetes research institutes and is known for translating new findings into practical solutions for diabetes patients everywhere. The Diabetes Research Institute is committed to finding a cure for diabetes, which affects about 25 million Americans. The Road Home Especially with the recent downturn in the housing market, many people are finding themselves without somewhere to sleep. The Road Home is a private organization that helps Utah’s homeless by providing them with resources that help them become self-sufficient. PMI made a contribution to the organization in January, helping them continue the great work they are doing. House of Hope (via Girl Scouts of America) As the Girl Scouts of America began their annual cookie sales this February, PMI teamed up with them for a service project benefiting the House of Hope. PMI bought several boxes of cookies that the girls delivered to House of Hope, an organization in Utah that provides treatment for people who struggle with addiction to drugs or alcohol. PMI was happy to help the Girl Scouts in their endeavor to bless other people’s lives. Northland Early Education Center Every year, PMI contributes to The Northland Early Education Center in Kansas. The organization provides therapy and quality early education for children with special needs as well as those who […]

PMI’s Food Drive

Last month, Professional Marketing International held a company-wide food drive to support families in the local community. We were able to collect 837 pounds of food and on October 5th it was packed up and hauled to the local Community Action Services and Food Bank. Food banks give people the unique opportunity to participate in charity donation that directly affects the people around them. Those in need are in turn able to get the food they need to survive, allowing them to focus on improving their situation and spending time with their family this upcoming holiday season. We are happy to have had the opportunity to participate in the food bank’s mission to fight hunger.

Professional Marketing International Donates to Haiti Relief

On January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake stuck the Caribbean nation of Haiti. The epicenter of this major earthquake was 10 miles from the Haitian capital of Porte-au-Prince, home to 2 million of Haiti’s nearly 10 million inhabitants. Within minutes the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere was devastated, only to be repeatedly rocked in the following hours and days by 33 aftershocks ranging in magnitude from 4.2 to 5.9. As the news and images have come out of Haiti, the realization of the scope of destruction and suffering has affected ordinary people in all walks of life. It would be difficult to see such devastation and not want to reach out and help. Such is the case with the owners, management and employees of Professional Marketing International. The desire to somehow ease the misery of the people of Haiti, and send a message of hope to those struggling for the very basics of survival, inspired our organization to step forward with a donation toward Haitian relief. In addition to the generous monetary donation from the corporation itself, PMI has extended a simple donation option to all of its employees through payroll deduction. While the total donated has yet to be calculated, the opportunity to donate was well received by employees. “Even in the current economic situation, the owners and employees of PMI feel blessed. It is difficult to watch the events in Haiti, and see the people suffering there and not step forward in this simple way to ease some of the misery there.” said Phil Smith, President of Professional Marketing International. “We are grateful we are in a position to help.” This donation continues PMI’s charitable giving, which in the past has included participation […]
